Some vets may not like to take appointments so far in advance 
. But if your vet/clinic doesn't mind, sure, the sooner the appointment is made, the better. Some vets will spay/neuter kittens as soon as they get to 1kg/2 pounds, but some vets like to wait longer. The mama cat can be spayed when the kittens are 8 weeks old.
I hope you've worked something out with your partner. If he's not willing to get vet care for the cats I don't think your house is safe for them :/.
