I found a tick on my cat, Toby. I pulled it out with tweezers. It was soft-bodied, gray, engorged, and had two bodies? Or, at least, there were two masses. There was a gray mass with legs and stuff, but the other mass was white like Toby's skin, and not perfectly round. My mother said that that's just the tick's head, but it was almost as large as the body! Did this tick take out a chunk of my dog's flesh? A gland, perhaps?

Hi sunburst25, welcome to the Catsite :wavey:

Could it be two female ticks at the same spot? Have you got a photo to show?

Double check on your cat's skin and make sure the spot is clean or have it cleaned. Do not use alchohol swap as it will probably give a bad sting on the spot where you pulled out the tick.

Welcome to the Cat Site! The second part could be the sac that holds the blood the tick sucked from the cat. Gross, but you can tell for sure by squashing the tick to see if blood comes out.
