I've had:

Cats
Dog
Fish
Little turtles
Gerbils
Hamsters
Mouse
Rabbit

Growing up there was always at least 3 animals in the house. In the years I've been on my own though it's just been my little Waffle. Eventually, when Matt and I buy a house in a couple of years, we'd like to have another cat and a couple of dogs (one being a Sheltie since I grew up with one and just loved her).

As a toddler, it was strictly forbidden to tease the cat.
As any little kid will do, I sometimes broke the rules, once my punishment was two nice claw punctures in my neck.

I told my mom that my pet bat did it, since that wasn't forbidden

Fox are a different species and even genera all together from domestic dogs. They cannot interbreed.
Your little dog was likely a cross with one of the small foxy looking dog breeds.

I've seen a few mentions of tortoises getting stolen over there. Are they really so hard to get that people can't buy or adopt them?

Though I had a female turtle swiped from my pen, kids were to blame for that.

On a side note - I see people listing turtles a lot, I'm assuming most have had red eared sliders. A turtle that lives around 15 - 25 years or more if well cared for.

I had a pair of petstore sliders.
I've also had cooters, a soft shelled, an Eastern box, a Russian tortoise and an African spur.

These are what I have had for "pets"

Dogs
Cats
Fish (saltwater and freshwater)
Birds (quaker parrots, cockatiels, a quail, pigeons, doves, finches)
Mice
Snakes (corn snakes, western and eastern hognose, ball pythons, rat snakes, rainbow boa, kingsnakes, vine snakes, and I'm sure I forgot something...)
Lizards (bearded dragon, horned lizard, conehead, basilisk, chinese water dragon, Iguanas, leopard geckos, tokay geckos)
Turtles (box turtle, common musk, florida cooter, florida softshell)
Hermit crabs

I have also rescued and rehabed some animals. Mostly baby squirrels. I did have a brown bat I cared for. He had a broken wing that couldn't be repaired. He couldn't catch his own food so I had to hand feed him little insects. He was the cutest little thing. And SOOOO soft. You wouldn't think that bats would feel like velvet but they do... He eventually went to live with a wildlife expert I know so he could be used for education.

I think thats all....
