What is your favourite song from your childhood?

My favortie song in grade school was "I love rock and Roll" by Joan Jett. I still crank it...

My first 45's included "You don't bring me flowers", "Ruby Tuesday" "Anticipation" "Heartache tonight" and "ABC".
But I remember we used to sing "Elvira" on the bus, as well as "On top of Old Smokey" (or spaghetti, whichever mood we were in) and:
Glory, glory, halleluja,
teacher hit me with a ruler,
So I blew her through the door
with my loaded 44,
and a teacher ain't a teacher anymore!
Or:
I see Shannon,
floatin down the Delaware,
chewing on her underwear
Couldn't afford another pair
10 days later, got eaten by a polar bear,
wonder how the polar bear died?
Or:
I'm bringin home me baby bumblebee,
won't my mommy be so proud of me,

and so on....
Man, we were weird!

As a child, my favorite songs were the ones my mom sang with me. I especially liked the 5 Little Ducks song.

Five little ducks went out to play
Over the hills and far away
Mother duck said "Quack quack, quack quack"
And four little ducks came running back...and so on and so forth

and I liked "Over in the Meadow"

Over in the meadow in the sand in the sun
Lived an old mother turtle and her little turtle one
"Dig" said the mother
"I dig" said the son
So they dug and were glad in the sand in the sun

and so on and so forth

As I entered my teenage years, I pretty much fell in love with New Wave and still listen to it endlessly.

there isn't one song that I could say stands out. I don't recall any of the kiddie songs with fondness. as a child I would listen to whatever my parents listened too. My dad was a huge fan of The Animals, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Santana and he would love to play his music and dance around with my and my sis. he'd hold our hands and we'd stand on his feet while he'd dance around. Till this day I still love the music he and my mom played. Every now and again I'll hear a song that I had completely forgotten about and it just puts a smile on my face.

My mom loved Meat loaf and we would listen to him all the time, I remember always singing "Paradise by the dashboard light" (I think thats the right name)....

I remember my favorite part was....

"I got to know right now, do you love me? will you love me forever? do you need me? will you never leave me, will me make me so happy for the rest of my life, will you take me away will you make me your wife ...I got to know right, will you love me forever........" (sorry I really like that song!)

I would sing this song all the time when I was elementary school..lol I guess I know why I like rock music so much now....
