I was doing some "window shopping" and came across a kitten (British Shorthair) who has quite unique looking pattern.

His father is solid blue but I couldn't find a pic of the dam as the website hadn't been updated since summer 2011. The litter was listed having a silver classic tabby, brown classic tabby and a silver spotted tabby. This one however doesn't look any of them. I've never seen this pattern on a BSH, it looks like a cross between spotted & classic tabby. Spotted BSHs have small spots or broken mackerel pattern, and classics look like regular classics.

What do you think? http://www.edelkatzen-von-laqua.de/images/07:11/0111-50-096.jpg  (Large pic so I just added a link to it).

Almost rosetted, still be classed as spotted though I've never seen such spotting on a Brit

Suspect it's a Silver spotted with a poor pattern, though it's not the best of angles to see it from.

this page has all the kittens on:

Here you can see dad at the top but mum isn't on it:

I originally found the pic from that website, linked just the pic though. I think the pattern looks rather nice, but it doesn't look anything like a regular spotted Brit.

For a reference: a good spotted BSH http://www.netikka.net/ferme/images/image93448741.gif

And one with more like broken mackerel spotting http://kipardis.weebly.com/uploads/8/8/2/9/8829569/2600420_orig.jpg

They don't really come in any different forms than those two, well a bit messier pattern possibly but nothing like the kitten I originally linked. Specially the pattern on the neck looks weird.

I don't know anything about BSH, but maybe a broken classic tabby pattern? Because the pattern of the spots does look like it may resemble a classic tabby "bullseye" just broken up...

I was thinking about that too, but I've never seen that happen.
These are the usual Brit spotting pattern that I'm used to seeing, would be interesting to see other photos of the original photo posted.
There were no other pics of this one, just 2 of his siblings from the front who looked like classic tabbies (though the pattern wasn't visible but the chest was so dark that I assumed those were the classic tabbies the breeder mentioned, one was said to be spotted and I think it was this weird one).
