What do you do when it's snowy in a place like Hot Springs Arkansas?
You snuggle
You snuggle
Sounds to me like they have trained you well.Originally Posted by fastnoc
i don't know what it is, but these cats are polar opposites. I mean seriously. Tinker doesnt EVER like to be picked up or pet. If she wants some affection it's completely on her terms. She'll jump on the desk, rub her face on the monitor with her butt in my face. i'm EXPECTED to give her long soft full body pets. And I am ALLOWED to know she likes it when she leans her tail over to the side, leaning on the arm I'm petting her with. When SHE is done, her tail moves and stops leaning on my arm. That is my cue to stop petting or she jumps away. lol
She's very affectionate, just not like a normal cat. And she weighs hardly anything. she's very light.
Wilbur, on the other hand, requires almost constant attention. He meows incessantly if I don't pay attention to him. Sometimes he'll even go to the other end of the house and caterwall LOUD.
and when I walk anywhere, he literally runs right beside me, staring at my feet, almost cutting me off.
If he arches his back and rubs my feet? that means he wants me to 'go for a walk'. meaning i pick him up, put him in my arms, and SLOWLY walk around the house, getting close to the things he can't reach. he sniffs all of them, then turns his head when he wants to move on. He will stay there as long as I walk around. it's always me that gets tired of it. And when i set him down, he meows very loud and picks up where he left off, running right next to my feet.
Finally, there are two things he demands. 1. to jump in my lap (usually when I'm busy) and he wants to get pets, and go to sleep. When he's done with the pets he flips his head upside down and that's my cue to leave him a lone. He REQUIRES me to leave my left arm to my side, which he lays his head on. if I move it, he gets upset.
The only way I can rid of him, is to say "want some treats" to which is wakes up in less than a second, meows very loud, and jumps off my lap, running to his treat dish.
All the while tinker stares at him from her cozy bed, on top of the DVR. she doesn't like treats and really doesn't care
and the second demand. He must sleep between my legs, on top of the covers, but not just any covers. I ahve a blanket that was a housewarming when i moved into my condo in phx. it was used to care for them when they were tiny. I put them to sleep on it, next to me on the couch. I am required to leave this on top of the covers so he can lay on it.
There are no exceptions, even if he's not tired he jumps up there and lays down. if nothing else, just to remind me that's HIS domain.
How strange are my cats.
