I'm from Saint Louis.
If you are going to the zoo, make sure to come around 2:30/3:00ish. That is when they feed the animals and most of them will be up and about. Also, for late night entertainment, I suggest going to the Big Bang which is a dualing piano bar. Its down on the Landing. However, its not for children. I believe you must be 18 or older to get in.

Hey, if ya'll go to the zoo- I'd love to meet ya up there

FYI: if you plan on going to the arch, they are fixing a cable or something- so there is only one tram operating right now. The lines might be a little long if you planned on going to the top
Thanks for the tip on the arch!!!
We are definitely planning on going to the zoo, although i'm not sure which day yet! I think we were just going to play it by ear when we get there. I think we'll go to six flags the first two days, then the zoo the next and save the tram for last but i dunno yet

Thankyou! I will definitely make sure we get there in that time frame if not earlier!!!
I am sooo excitied about the zoo!
I can't wait to see the giraffes (my favorite). Big Bang sounds really fun! I think Colin and I both would enjoy that.
Any idea how expensive it is?

The zoo is def. awesome now. They just finished the new elephant and ape areas. Its really nice. The art museum is right by the zoo too which I really enjoy.

There might be a five dollar cover for the Big Bang and the cost of drinks but that is about it. Avoid the casinos down there unless you make your way out to the Earth City/Maryland Heights areas, then go to Harrahs or Ameristar.

Hmmm, let's see... if you want to go to a really neat romantic dinner, I suggest The Chocolate Bar or anything on the Hill (all Italian).

I used to work at that Six Flags. As someone mentioned before, bring a fanny pack. They may be considered lame, but you have no idea how many people would discover they needed one, only to find we had very little of them. Don't forget to bring a hat and sunscreen because it's always pretty hot there. If you do want to take pictures with a disposable camera, bring one or two with you because when I worked there 4 years ago there were $16 apiece. Bring medicine because while they do have limited quantities, it'll be incredibly expensive as well, for a small amount. I can't remember if they let you bring in water bottles, but keep in mind the soda/water vending machines are $3 per soda. Bring a roll of quarters and some ones just in case, because there are no change machines. Also, Six Flags does not take checks.

Every Host/Hostess (i.e employee) will be glad to take your picture with your camera if you want a picture of both you and your husband together; just ask! It in the job description.
Two of my favorite rides are the Mine Train and the Log Flume. Also, if you want to bring food in a cooler and leave it in the car, they'll stamp your hand so you can get back in without paying again.

The St. Louis Art Museum is a great idea; it's one of the best free art museums in the country. They have a mummy in the basement. The Science Center and Grant's Farm are also pretty cool.

If you need any other suggestions, let me know. Saint Louis actually has a lot to offer if you know where to look.

BajaOklahoma, should be 200 miles north
It's always humid in StL, so be sure you have lots of deodorant.
Drink lots of water.
Wave to my aunt when you go to 6 Flags - she owns a car dealership across the highway.

Grant's Farm - love the Clydesdales
Budweiser Brewery is interesting, even for those who don't drink
Zoo - always fun
Arch - there is a McDonalds on an "old riverboat" just below the Arch - a cheap place to sit and watch the river traffic

We also like some of the caverns.

I'm pretty sure that they closed that McDonald's Riverboat a few years ago. I loved that McDonald's, even if the food was more expensive just because it was a boat.
