Sometimes people use a filter to make a picture look nicer. I use filters on IG all the time with no intention of doing anything but make the picture look cool. I know it wasn't a conspiracy lol.
Lounge Mod here! It's my job to start threads like this. It's either this or I can continue to rant about the snow.Oh god not you too.
Right?? I could not believe it when this happened to me!Come on!!!!! I looked at the dress on TV this AM and it was clearly white and gold. Then when I went to the above link and it was white and gold. But when I scrolled back up it was black and blue!!!
Just wait; someone is going to show up to a costume party in a copy of this dress. The front will be white and gold and the back will be blue and black!
Lol....I love the photo!! It sums up 'dressgate' well.I was like you, and trying to get myself to see the 'other colours' and then I thought, ..."whatever!....I should stop, now."
@MoochNNoodles I'm not so sure, "If I never see that dress again; I will be one happy camper." Just think of all the money we could have made, if we were a little faster on the draw, and had some wealthy investors...we'd have come up with the next, highest selling 'halloween costume'...or christmas toy. Too bad...I know nothing about patents, toys, or costumes.
I scored 24.
What it comes down to is what information is in the image capture.
If the image capture is blown out because of flash and bad white balance, then the digital information is incomplete. Photoshop efforts are then suspect, because they are based on bad information.
On the flip side, it could be a good picture, but photoshopped to look blown out. In that case, the information is there, and corrections can be made to turn the picture back to what it's supposed to be.
The lesson here is... it's the internet, and photoshop is king.
Here's a fun little way to test your color perception.... color test The lower the score, the better.
My score: 3

I seen it on different sites and I have seen it as white and gold, light blue and dingy brown and blue and black.......I agree with @Natalie_ca that is one UGLY dress, I don't care what color it suppose to be.
Every single time I looked at that dress, I saw blue and black.
The South African arm of the Salvation Army is using the dress in a message about domestic violence. Their quote with the dress is 'why is it so hard to see black and blue'. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/salvation-army-dress-ad-domestic-abuse-article-1.2139796
