What breed is my rescue kitty

He was a feral cat that we rescued, he has six toes on each paw. We are new to the cat world and are curious what breed he might be

He is beautiful, a nice copy of a mini black panter, especially adapted for ship use.   (the extra toe cats are sometimes called for ship-cats - they are presumed to be extra good at climbing ropes and such).

But for the moment we must call him simply for a domestic shorthair  DSH, black in color.      The great majority of all cats are domestics. btw.
