My girlfriend got our new kitten Raya from her local pound in West Virginia last week. They said the cat is a tabby, which is obvious from the M on her forehead, but I think she has something else in her....maybe like bengal or savannah or something. Our vet said that she has never seen spots like this on a tabby. She has very large and somewhat round ears for her size. She has bandit-like stripes on the outside of her eyes. Her legs are extremely long and very skinny. She has stripes on her back and some of her legs, but spots everywhere else, including her belly. Her tail has black rings and is solid at the tip. She is extremely hyper most of the day, and eats like a horse. She is also extremely cuddly for a kitten...almost like a dog. I'd like to know if anyone has any information about what she could be mixed with, or if she's just a regular tabby cat.

Thanks,

Lucas

I've had three or four tabbies throughout my life that have spots like that, and very large ears like hers. She's just a Domestic Short Hair Tabby. It's very, very rare for you to find a cat that has purebred blood mixed in it. She's very beautiful :) Reminds me of my mother-in-law's tabby Bo. Ill see if I can find some pictures.

I agree totally with Clynn and MissyMotus.  That said, in some places it is not uncommon with ByB breeders of bengals, and thus, not so few bengal mixes get out. Even som pet quality pure bred bengal arent rare (although they tend to be adopted, so they are rare at pounds).

Catastrophes like the hurricane Katrine did also caused quite a few of homeless pedigree cats and dogs. This here is not the common bengal pattern, but some few of them are of similiar tabby pattern.

Sawannah is very rare, so you can immediately forget it.    :)

With cats,  breed is not what they do look alike in first hand, but what parentage, ancestry they do have is the most important. So unless solid proofs, a look alike is still look alike...

Here, your cat is very very beautiful, but even me thinks he is a domestic.

Congrats to your furry friend, and tx for adopting this cat.   :)

I have two that looks like that! One has a white belly and white feet, the other a gray mackeral tabby, very light white under her chin.
