A lovely red domestic shorthaircan anyone please tell me what breed he is...??
Close but not a Siamese or a moggieThe other is either a Siamese (only if papered) or a pointed domestic
That was the first breed I thought too. But if not registered, a moggie.Could it be Thai?
You are the winner. He is a tonk. He has papers and acts like he is the king of all my other cats. lol.. He has been the best cat I have ever had though. He is very vocal. If anyone is thinking of getting a tonk you will not be disappointed. They are a great breed just a little loud at times. Thanks for all the replies. I thought it would be fun for you all to have something to guess besides a moggie for a change (not that there is anything wrong with a moggie) i got a few of them too. thanks againHow about a pointed Tonkinese?
The body type looks like it may be more semi-foreign like the Tonkinese were originally supposed to be . Unless he had stud jowls the head type doesn't look so much like the typical old style Siamese / Thai (but i am not seeing a profile view , so i am trying to see it just by the angle shot. Front views cause a foreshortening effect, one can't see how much depth there is. )
Also Thai are foreign body type (at least in TICA which has the most specific breed standard for Thai, though there would be some Thai who turn out more like this.
This boy looks more like the Euro kind of Tonk than a lot of U.S. show Tonks which have become more like the U.S. Burmese.... those Tonks are now semi-cobby. ( but there are Tonks in US that do have a more medium or even semi foreign type)
Anyway welcome to you and thanks for sharing pics of this handsome cat.
Right, so he IS a moggie after all! Here in Europe. ROFL!We don't have any Tonkinese here, FIFé doesn't recognize the breed
Tonks are some wonderful cats, aren't they? A friend of mine shows Tonkinese and I'm very fond of them. They are not all as loud as yours, though. ( but I've been used to Siamese for a long time.... and I guess "loud" is relative. LOL) .You are the winner. He is a tonk. He has papers and acts like he is the king of all my other cats. lol.. Agree Snowshoe is the best, though the chances are practically zero of her actually being a Snowshow mix given how extremely rare the breed is.For listing her a 'possible snowshoe mix' is as good as any.
