What breed does my cat look like?

She is about 7 months old, thick soft coat, and doesn’t meow at all. She’s so mild-tempered, so calm, and truly has never hissed or clawed at anything, not even when she’s afraid. She’s very quiet, very patient, and so gentle.

What a sweet kitty! It sounds like she has a wonderful personality. She's beautiful, too -- and she already looks very mature for seven months!

I would describe your cat as a brown mackerel tabby and white domestic longhair. Some people call this pattern of white markings "mitted," because it looks a little bit like she has white mittens :)

Longhaired tabby cats often have a general resemblance to the natural longhaired breeds: Maine Coon, Norwegian Forest Cat, and/or Siberian. Since these breeds still look similar to their natural origins, many longhaired cats resemble them. However, without any information about her background, it's unlikely that she would have specific breed ancestry. The vast majority of cats are not any particular breed, and are not mixes of breeds, unlike dogs. That's okay -- domestic longhairs are great cats!
