I just finished reading the 4th book in the "Dark Tower" series by Steven King and am now reading "The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents" By Terry Pratchett (My favourite Author) It's about a cat called Maurice, a street wise tomcat who has the perfect money making scam! Maurice has a stupid looking kid with a pipe, and his very own plague of strangly educated rats!!! Very good and very funny!

I'm reading The Real-Life X-Files, by Joe Nickell. He's an investigator for the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal. He's as good a debunker, as the Amazing Randi.

I am reading "A Painted House" by John Grisham. One of the latest in the Left Behind series is sitting by my bed waiting to be read.

I will have to print out this thread. I love to read and am always looking for good suggestions.

I'm listening to Anne McCaffrey's Pern books in audiobook most of the time, and occasionally reading some Xanth books. I have a lot of e-books and audiobooks. I bought an MP3 CD player so I can listen to audiobooks wherever I go, and I read e-books on my Palm Pilot. I'm NEVER without something to read!

I am currently reading 'Things My Girlfriend and I Have Argued About' by Mil Millington. There is a website by the same name and person, but that is truth and the novel is fiction derived from truth
. It is great so far.

I'm currently reading the 4th Crown Of Stars book by Kate Elliott called Child of Flame.
After that I have stacks of new books that Lee has bought for me waiting in line, most of which are Stephen King and Dean Koontz, my favourites

I like murder mysteries. Right now, I'm reading one by Linda Fairstein called 'The Bone Vault'. (The writer was the lead prosecuter in the NYC Sex Crimes Unit for 15 years or so.)

Im also working my way through a novel called 'The Children's War',
written by someone named J. N. Stroyer. It's very long (abt 1,200 pages); in the story, Nazi Germany was never vanquished and has now
controlled all of Europe for more than 50 years. The story focuses on one man (a young Brit) who escapes from the German family where he is a slave, and falls in with a group of resistance fighters, who are trying to get the 'North American Union' to take action against the Nazis. It's a very disturbing book and I can only read small amounts of it at a time.

...Toxic Parents by Dr. Susan Forward. I highly recommend it for anyone who's undergone *any* form of abuse from their parents, including verbal.

Take care,

Jenk

has anyone here read The Hours by Michael Cunningham (obviously the basis for the film) ?

i've heard such amazing things about it, and i'm pretty sure it won the Pulitzer.

if so, what did you think?

i think i'll pick it up next week
