Well I'm about half way through the first book, and although I found it may have been a little dry at first, I haven't had any trouble grasping it, or looking forward to what comes next.Originally Posted by nanner

Yeah, everyone I know who's read it says it's about the first 100 pages that are sort of, "hmmm.....I wonder when this is going to pick up?" and I was thinking that as well, and then.....yowza.....I got totally hooked.Originally Posted by Kailie

I DID enjoy this book, although truthfully it is not something I would normally be interested in. The story was very well written, and I really loved the characters. I am not, however, into business, journalism or finances, and found some parts of this book a little dry, however, it was really worth the read.Originally Posted by Kailie
Boring and not even slightly engaging.
Now reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson.
I enjoyed book 2 SO much more!!Originally Posted by Kailie

Now on to book 2 in the trilogy, The Girl Who Played With Fire.
Isn't Lisbeth a fantastic character? When I finished the 3rd book, I felt like I was leaving family behind....his characters really came to life for me.Originally Posted by Kailie

She really IS awesome and that's what I loved about the 2nd book, I got to know her a lot more. With the way book 2 ended, I had to dive right into book 3.Originally Posted by nanner

REALLY loved the story in all 3 of the books, very in dept and well thought out. I liked the characters as well. What I didn't like however was all the political and conspiracy mumbo jumbo... I know that was the basis for the novels, but that stuff bores me to tears. I also didn't like how every woman who came into Blomkvist's life just threw themselves at him and wanted to jump right into bed. I mean please.Originally Posted by Kailie

What a wonderful book this was! I literally laughed out loud numerous times while reading this. My kind of humour for sure, however there are other, very real emotions involved in this book. Recommended!Originally Posted by Kailie
Now reading The Next Queen of Heaven by Gregory Maguire.
The Stand is tied for first place with Gone With the Wind and Clan of the Cave Bear for me.Originally Posted by Laiste
I just finished Awakening by S. J.Bolton, it was on OK read, really interesting story but I got through it in one night.
I'm a big Stephen King fan meow_meow_meow! The Stand is in my top five at least, maybe even top three
Have you read the first three in the Dark Tower series? I liked the first four, hated the 5th, wondered what possessed me to get out the 6th, but really enjoyed the 6th and 7th.Originally Posted by meow meow meow
