Last night we had a horrible storm come through. We had no clue about the pending danger till DH was out picking up dinner and the person was hurrying and apologized saying that they were closing cause there was a tornado that touched down and was headed that way. So, Dh comes rushing home in shock because we saw lightening in the distance but no rain yet or anything. He gets home and then large, heavy hail starts coming down. It is hitting so hard that we are afraid the windows might break. A friend calls then and says there is another tornado on the ground even closer to us and heading right for us.
We grab flashlights, radio, blankets and pillows to put in our downstairs bathroom.
Now catching our kitties was a huge ordeal. It was like trying to catch three greased piglets.
They were all freaked about the hail and all three scattered in different directions. The boys and I all went after a different cat. Then we played "keep the kitties in the bathroom" cause one boy would get a cat in and another would open it to put another in and the first cat would run out when the door opened. Finally we got them all and ourselves in the bathroom.
It was scary but our middle son kept us laughing with his antics on how we would all sleep in the bath tub together over night.
And Oreo, Snickers and Jazz were sitting there just looking at us like, "Why did you call this family meeting and why are we involved?"
Obviously we made it through all unscathed.
The tornado came close but not too close. Hopefully others made it through well. Anyway, it was a long night.
