Good morning everyone! Sunny here . I am so glad I do not live in Denver! They can have it!just a quick note before I have to run to the store,Everyone have a good day!Be back later.
It's a stormy rainy day here! I love it!
I just realized my count was all bad
I thought the war begins the night between Thursday and Friday and now I realized it's 24 hours sooner...
Hubby and his family are very cool about it all and say we shouldn't even prepare a sealed room as we've been told to do. They're probably right - but I'm beginning to feel worried. Can't wait for it to be tomorrow - all that's waiting is too hard. Been watching the children's channel with Ron all morning. They're teaching toddlers about the war. They're using the charachters (puppets) that the kids know and like (sort of like the American Big Bird I think) and showing how they are also scared. The "adults" of the shows are explaining to the puppets about Scuds, sirens and gas masks
It really got to me - kept crying the whole time...
I hope you all don't think I'm ranting too much about the war. Sharing this sort of helps... Thanks for listening.
anne - my heart breaks for you. i can't begin to imagine. please do whateveer you need to do in order to protect yourself and your family. my prayers are with you daily.
it's cool and rainy here, but a definate improvement from the cold of a few eeks ago. i'll take it because i know the sun will shine soon.
im so sorry anne that you are stuck there in the midst of all this
i have the flu, i think. body is aching especially my head and neck.
and then i have packing to do, oh happy day oh happy day!
went scrapbooking last night and made a page of my sons ultrasound pictures, it looks great! (hope you can see the pic! sorry about the flash, the page is too big to scan)
I was pleased to see that our very own UNC-Asheville made it into the march madness NCAA basketball tournament - its a big deal around here.
Angel - Hey, I took my son to a hockey game last night! He was horrid during the first period!
The game last night was great, though we lost (Dang goalie had a BAD night, let 6 shots slip through... we scored 5 though! Better than most of the super sucky games we've been playing this year). It was exciting, there was a fight (hey, that's one of the highlights of any hockey game), a ref got squished
, and best of all, the tickets were free, having been passed out by the YMCA (and had the added benefit that my son saw a friend of his and they entertained each other during the last 2 periods).
Oh, and Anne? I got so emotional last night over the anthems, and they sang "O Canada" first! Guess this whole thing is getting to me more than I thought.
Today, I'm playing hooky from school. I think I'll go to the library if I ever get dressed.
Willie: Awwww, you try to enjoy one simple game, pfft, hee hee.
My daughter was actually surprisingly good this time! She only started to blubber and whine AFTER we left and got in the car.
If I'm lucky it will keep up like this, I sure hope so, cause I have to bring her to the mva, and a bunch of daycares this week!
Just waiting to monitor a peer's call for quality assurance. During pauses and holds I am here so I am here alot today. It is hubby's b-day today and he is miserable (he hates b-day's). He didn't even want to open his present this morning - he will open it tonight or it will go back to the store!
Willie - sounds like a great game - I love the anthems - I sing both the Canadian and American ones at any lacrosse games I go to.
Kellye - what a great scrap book page!
Anne - I am keeping you in my prayers and never worry about venting here, I understand your fear.
Happy hump day! I've had the joy of listening to my evil cow-orker chomping her gum ALL DAY! Y'know, it kinda sounds like a cow chewing it's cud. Aren't we taught by about, oh I don't know, age 5? not to do that?!?
Sorry. Gripe over. It's an OK day, overcast and cooler. Still, it's nice to be able to wear a light jacket instead of my winter one. I've got to finish catching up with organizing all the piles of paper I have strewn around my desk, and then start working on my paper. What a fun afternoon I have in store!
Kellye-I love that scrapbook page! I guess the number is the date the sonograms were taken?
Anne-If you can't rant here, who can? Please keep yourself and your family safe. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Our daffidils and crocus are blooming! I cut the lawn today and the horses were mad- they think they are much better at lawn mowing that an ol John Deere! But I can't have them in the front of the property as there is no fence to keep them in.
I feel like I am on a mind-numbing halt right now, just waiting. But Kellye I love the scrapbook page and the caption you came up with! Too cute!
Hi everyone, I hope there is still some people on at this time. I took my cats to the vet yesterday for a basic check-up and shots. The vet convinced me to do the shots in separate intervals rather than all at once. It wouldn't hurt them, but the likelyhood of them contracting rabies, feline distemper and upper respiritory something or other all in one day was highly unlikely, so I shouldn't vaccinate that way either. She was very good about not telling me what to do. But I went her way anyways.
Tigger, at 10, is in very good health for her age, even her teeth are very good for her age, "a little plaque, but nothing to anesthetize for" she weighs 13.25 pounds.
Roo is also in good health weighing in at 19.1 pounds. He's lost about 5 pounds in the last 6 months, but with the vet, he's officially on a diet. I got some expensive high-fiber cat food that I have to mix in with his regular food for awhile.
Today is overcast and very windy! So much for a day in the back-yard!
Today was a wild day for me at work...not sure why though. Wednesdays are usually pretty fair, but today it seemed like some one openned to flood gates and everyone came to Wal-Mart! I don't know how many times I kept reminding myself "I love my job...I love me job!". Finally that saying changed to "I love my job...screw this..I hate my job!!". I was never so thankful to see 6 pm in my entire life! LOL!
Other than my job irking me today, everything else was ok but last night was horrible. My allergies are kicking up massively lastly and they kicked my butt last night. I had a sinus headache/migrane and it was to the point it made me nausous (sp?). Usually I'm on TCS until at least 10:30 each night and I was in bed before 9....and that is rare for me! At least I woke up this morning headache free and stomach ache free! Hope I don't have another night like that ever again.
Well...enough about my aches and pains! Sorry to complain about everything....Could someone send me a "good mood" via email or something? LOL!!
