What a nightmare.
The fridge died... on the 4th of July. We've been swapping out 5 bags of ice in twice a day to keep things cool.
Unfortunately, replacing a fridge in the RV is not the same as replacing a fridge at home. You don't just plug it in. First, it has to fit the opening you've got. We couldn't afford a new one, so got a refurb - came without door panels on the front. Of course the model of refridge we bought with the RV doesn't exist anymore, and they're slightly different sizes, so our door panels don't quite fit properly on the new one. We'll figure something out - they'll need a bit of trim to fit the 1/4" where the glass ends and the edge of the doors are on the new one.
BUT... it WORKS! It takes about four hours for the cooling part to get going, but it is definitely getting cold in there!
Here's the package that was delivered this morning:
Here's our old fridge (I'm going to miss it!) :
You can see the lovely smoked glass door panels better in this picture (the panel that controls it has been removed - it all comes out in pieces) :
New fridge - finally in (doors still have to go on LOL) :
Here you can see - just insulation. No door panels. And the lovely handles on our old fridge don't fit on the new one.
But at least it's here, it's in, and it's working on both propane and electric, and switching without a hitch!
