They are hung up with green garden twine.

I thought it was a cute idea since you don't have a fireplace mantle. At my duplex we don't have a fire place (heck, or a garbage disposal, or anything decent for that matter

) so we put the little stocking holders on top of our entertainment center and hang them from there- it was quite a sight last year when my sister and her family lived with us

/ I've taken full advantage of decorating Colin's house this year

He has a mantle above his fire place - hehe, i decorated that first

(he also has a garbage disposal and a dishwasher- omg! i love it

i'm soo spoiled at his place - i thought it was the most cool thing ever that he had appliances like that

)
