So my cat seems to love if I lay my hand on her back while she eats. As in she purrs and sometimes seems to keep on eating until I take my hand away. I am not saying she won't eat unless I hold her -- she does like to eat while I make my breakfast -- but that seems to make her want to reach for her plate. Any clues?

Sounds totally fine to me. She has food, and has you, and so she purrs.

Ok I have a funny story=my oldest Kitty Floey-loves to drink water out of the faucet=if I am not standing next to her petting her she hops down from the sink to the toilet onto her box then runs after me-circles around my feet as if to say "mommy-mommy!" and i go back to the sink-she flys up the stairs I built her and happily laps water as long as I am here...this every morning..then lay down on the toilet to sit while I shower-been like this for ten years now..not sure why she does it..but I think the steam helps her breathing..she's almost 17 so I let her do whatever she wants..
