good evening everyone!!

quick intro!!

im heather, mom to three awesome kids and 3 purrbabies  fluffy(M)  Hedwig (M)  and sohpie (F)

long story short. a friend needed to rehome his two kitties when he got evicted from his apartment... he told me at the time that they were both fixed.... liar liar pants on fire!

so... ive got kittens on the away... very soon at this point.   hedwig is the father (i know that because i got the fluffinator fixed when he was 11 weeks old. when i adopted him, and sophie has never stepped a paw outside... hedwig was fixed as soon as i realized sophie was pregnant).

i have a few questions/concerns...

all three purrbabies share my bed with me... fluffy at the foot on one side... sophie next to me.. and hedwig, right on my chest (suckling on my ear lobe as he falls asleep... wierd. but cute!)  i set up the birthing box in my bedroom closet by taking the door off of a large pet carrier and putting a blanket in it.  well... daddy loves it just as much as mommy to be. so much that to help keep  him out of it. i got him his own, that is also in the closet, him and her now frequently switch between them. several times a day even.  until bedtime, when hedwig settles in on my chest.... wierdo.. but i love it!!

my concern with this is.. i heard that males can maybe eat the babies when they are born to try and get mama into heat again.... is this something to worry about even though he has been fixed? hedwig has been fixed for 3 weeks now... when i got him when he was 3 months old. he liked to suckle my ear to go to sleep... then it went away.. i thought that was just an age thing, but since getting him fixed (for real this time!!) he has started doing it again. so it makes me think the testosterone is leaving him. fluffy has no interest in anything related to sophie... lol he is just going about his normal business of  eat, sleep, cuddle  repeat.  should i be worried about this?  is it okay to have a "daddy box"  near the birthing box?

nipples.... her nipples turned pink and the hair around them was gone about 4 weeks ago. (my indication that she was preggers)  now when i look at them.. while  they are still large.. they are more white than they were before and it looks like some of the hair is growing back... the babies are still very well in there, they aer very active little ones i can see her belly dancing across the room.

im just getting antsy i know. everything is looking good. i just cant wait for the mto get here and im so worried about when they do! the three of them have always been the three amigos. i dont want anything tragic to happen.... my kids are excited to meet the lil ones.

i have kitten formula which she already is drinking as well as kitten wet and dry food (which they all are enjoying. lol) is there anything else i need?

It would be highly unusual for Hedwig to bother the kittens. Some males even help the mom with the babies. Since they are good friends, you'll need to play it by ear. Sophie will let Hedwig know if she wants to be left alone.

Here are some articles to help you out. Continue to ask any questions on this thread.
