Marishka readily ate her first meal of Fromm foods Beef wet food this evening (about 3.5-4 ounces). I went into my bedroom about an hour ago, and she had vomited all of it up (onto my new and clean bedding), looking just about how it looked when she ate it. She hasn't acted sick all evening, as she's been with me most of it, and is acting fine now, and doesn't seem upset when I press around on her tummy. In the year I've had her I've cleaned up cat vomit maybe 3 times including this time.
So, ironically I asked earlier this evening about giving her tomato paste onto other food as a treat, as she seemed to like it on the food, and in small amounts was the answer and to watch for onions and garlic. Ok.
So, I look up tomatos and cats about 5 minutes ago, and come across this website> Which foods are toxic to cats and dogs? and read this:
Tomatoes and tomato plants: Tomatoes of all kinds are toxic to cats, as are parts of the tomato plant. Ingesting as little as a cherry tomato can cause severe gastrointestinal upset.
A) If so, then why would it be in such a highly praised and probably popular food?
B)Should I be concerned?
Was it a fluke, and the food just didn't sit well on her stomach, or should I be more worried? Maybe I'm being paranoid, but is there any validity to it? It just doesn't make sense to me, and I feel like I am missing an important piece of information.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kelly
