When we lost power a few days ago, we found out the starter that switches the power from electric to propane was broken. Not a big problem. Power seemed to be working fine, we made ice in the freezer two nights ago.
Last night... no ice.
But the "check" light wasn't on (meaning it didn't think there was a problem with the electric).
Thank goodness we're friends with the RV repair guy. He flew over here despite it being the 4th holiday.
He confirmed - nothing wrong with the electric. Could be problem with circulation of the coolant. He banged on it all over. Sometimes if there's a "particle of something" in there, it can get stuck. That may be all it takes.
If not.... we either have to replace the cooling unit (about $900) or the entire fridge (about $2000). (Yes, RV fridges are far more expensive than home fridges).
We can't afford either solution.
So a few vibes that it was just the circulation and the banging worked!
