Oh my, how can you even wait until Saturday?
Bijou hasn't had any shots since his annual last June. The vet that treated his eye a couple weeks ago didn't seem too concerned with the lump but it seems bigger to me than it did then unless I'm just seeing things. John said it seems bigger to him too. I didn't like the food advice I got from the vet that treated his eye so I'm trying yet another new vet. My BIL and SIL go to this one near us and they have been wonderful with their little miniature dachsund. They have already sent me an e-mail outlining an annual check-up offer they have that includes a myriad of things that are included in that plus if we opt to take it, there is another 10% off any other vet visits. They said in the e-mail that they were looking forward to meeting Bijou so they sound nice so far.Originally Posted by Bella713
Many vibes headed Bijou's way
If it makes you feel better a few months ago Joey had one too and it hurt him when I touched it, but the vet said it was from his shot? Has Bijou had shots lately?
That's what I'm thinking. I would like them to just take it out no matter what they think it is and then send it off for biopsy or whatever. The vet that did his eye (the one I'm not so thrilled with) said they could do the cell aspiration. I think, based on what you've experienced, that I'm going to push to have them just remove it and get it done with.Originally Posted by Going Nova
I hope his lump isn't anything serious! My avatar kitty had a lump, and his turned out to be a fibrosarcoma. I hope Bijou's is nothing like that. We also had a first vet who didn't seem very concerned, so we waited until it grew to take him back and seek a second opinion. We didn't want to put him through unneccessary surgery, but the second vet told us that aspirating cells to identify the mass isn't an accurate method. So they took it out. I wish we had it taken out from the very beginning.
It's really hard for me to say. When I try to give it a good feel he pulls away and I don't want to hurt him.Originally Posted by Rosiemac

Thank you. He means the world to us and is so spoiled.Originally Posted by Valksy

Agree that your vet will most likely want to excise to send for tests as it is routine.
Please let us know how it turns out
I totally agree Laurie. As you know it's took me 3 vets practices since i moved here 2 years ago to finally find one that listens to me.Originally Posted by LDG
I'm so glad you're going to a new vet. It is SO important to have someone that is not just competent, but someone that really cares, because our pets mean so much to us!
I know! And that's why for anything other than routine check-ups or blood work, we drive 45 minutes away instead of 15.Originally Posted by Rosiemac
