Hey Guys,
I have a 13 year old female cat who recently got sick, vomiting foamy white mucus type vomit. She wasnt really drinking but was eating a small amount of wet food. Since she wasnt really drinking and quite lethargic (not like her at all) I took her to the vet, they ran bloodwork to find her Kidney Values were 139 (apparently quite high), they asked me to bring her back and they hospitalized her for a few days and kept her on IV fluids, ran another blood test and she was fine so they released her. The vet gave me some k/d and wants to check her in two weeks.
But as of yesterday she is not drinking or eating anything. I did make the mistake of giving her a tiny piece of chicken she ate it like she was starving, but then immeadiately the foamy vomit started again...6 or 7 times it seemed like it was almost choking her, like it was bubbling up. She also seems to have a stopped up nose (whistling) and her breathing is a bit labored it seems because of that. Her nose is cracked and super dry and shes almost acting like she has a sore tongue or throat shes sat at the water bowl looking at it, sticks her tongue in and then crouches away and acts like she is about to vomit and then lays down. She is usually super vocal, she's barely meowing at all and when she does is sounds congested and phlegmy.
I tried a 1/4 pepcid ac this morning, but i dont know what else to do. Should i take her back to the same vet? try a different one? I just want to help her =( I've already shelled out about 500 for the hospitalization, special food, etc however I am not sure if maybe its just some nasty cold or what...any advice/help/ideas would be appreciated!
