I don't have any experience with this; but I wanted to say I hope he is feeling better very soon!  Sounds like he is going through so much.

thank you so much, I appreciate your support, and it is alot but even the eye specialist stated if I waited and let it get worse Dante would lose an eye, its alot for any kitten to handle but im glad we are dealing with it now rather then later, haha this rescue kitty ended up costing me a pretty penny :) and I dont regret it one bit

Good luck. Wally had something with his eyes a couple weeks after we got him. Whatever it was, went away on it's own. I wiped the gook out 3x a day until it cleared up.

Luckily, Wally was so young, he didn't fight me when cleaning his eyes.

Hi Kylee,

I have a cat rescue and have had several very sick kittens this month. It wasnt until I changed vet's that I saw dramatic improvement. Here is what he prescribed:

1. eye ointment has to be neopolydex (I was given two other eye ointments but they were not working, this one worked within 2 days).

2. Clavamox 1ml 2x a day.

I saw dramatic difference within 2 days. Now only after 5 days on both meds, they are just fine. I lost 5 kittens to URI before I changed vet's because I was given the wrong meds so be very careful. On any course of treatment if you don't see great improvement within 3 days take action. Go back or ask for more aggressive treatment.

Always check for dehydration. Keep them hydrated.

It is the worst feeling to medicate an animal and then have it run/hide from you.  I know it stinks.  But you have got to reach deep down and say, "I've got to do this" and do your best.  Animals don't understand that we're trying to help, but they are very forgiving.  Get a pillow and blanket and lay down on the floor.  Let him just have you nearby.  Sometimes when we don't feel well, just someone being nearby is helpful.  Sometimes being touched is actually the last thing I want.

When does the eye specialist open again?  Monday?

Before adjusting any of the dosages of medication, it needs to be determined if the dosage is correct.
