That is my impression too. I am going to Petco today to research some better food alternatives for my babies. This has been an eye opener, a very scary eye opener.Originally Posted by leesali

This is NOT the full list - there are other companies who have recalled their foods who are not listed on menufoods website, please check with the website of the food you feed to be sure people!Originally Posted by GoldenKitty45

This is the website of the list of all cat and dog foods that are recalled so you can check and see if you are feeding any of them.

But at least we have the master list now !

I'm sooo scared! I just checked and all my nutro wet pouches are included in the recall!! I'll call my vet tmr to see what should be done but i have some questions-
Someone said to look for diluted urine- what exactly does that mean????
Jeez- Nutro is a pretty expensive product and I bought it thinking it's one of the best products to give to my cats!
Is that the only way to tell if its diluted pee?Originally Posted by sharky

Bigger clumps?
Oh man their clumps are always pretty big.
Is there any other ways to tell in the litter box???
That's real hard for me to tell cuz I have 6 cats and 5 litterboxes.....Originally Posted by sharky

I live in a one bedroom apt. Heidi stays in the bedroom... I could put one cat in the bathroom for a couple hours but how do I know when he/she'll need to pee so I can put him in bathroom with a litterbox and not wait all day??? That'd take a couple days to do and some cats will NOT be happy about this..Originally Posted by icklemiss21
can you put them all in a separate room with a litter box each?
If you're looking for a small brand that is processed and canned in-house and not shipped off to any larger conglomerates, try Evanger's. Actually, I think Evanger's does the canning for a lot of the "smaller" more pricey brand as I understood it when I went to their facility. It's right in the area for meOriginally Posted by Renovia
i hope some smaller companies that CARE about the food they produce get a boost from this.
Merrick is the only other smallish company ( How small are they if nearly all of us can find them>???) that is its processing plant that is known.. i am calling Nutura , Solid gold and Felidea tomarrow.. ...Originally Posted by lionessrampant

They're just distributed by different companies.
It's a good option for me, since raw is NOT an option at this point (lack of freezer, counter space only big enough for a half-cutting board...ya, it'd be tough)
not unless you have non absorbing litter and a drip tray ... maybe the vet will make a housecall??Originally Posted by Pamela
Think it'll work if I bring in urine samples from litter boxes?? Can my vet test them from that?
I can scoop out all the urine and have them all tested- hopefully they will be able to test all my cats from that so I don't have to put them thru the trauma of going to vet for this?
