He seems to be filling out a little but he has gran mal seizures every 3 hours. They tend to happen about 15 minutes into his feeding hour. He can lift his head now and likes his vitamin water but I have to force him to drink his kmr.
Is it possible to return to the vet today and ask for anti-seizure medication? Also possibly an antibiotic in case he has any bacterial infection? I know it’s not your regular vet.
I’m also wondering if you make a mush of Gerber turkey and his milk and try giving him that if he would get more calories and like it better?
Sarthur2
- yes, I can try the Gerber2 turkey and formula - great idea!! and i will ask vet for a follow-up. Thank you for all your prompt suggestions- my mind is muddled from lack of sleep. Furballsmom
- thank you for the prayers. It really is between God and Tim/X.
If it helps the people I know with petite and grand mal seizures said the place they
go isn't frightening, but pleasant. One said she saw old friends and spoke to them. She
had petite mal and we could hear her speaking to people we couldn't see. Perhaps he's
visiting his mom and siblings.
Back from the vet....heartbroken..i will post a pic of his grave when I am finished.
"Godspeed and tailwinds west, my sweet baby boy - oh, how I long to hold you..."
A simple country grave for a tiny life ended too soon. Poor Tim - the vet refused to give either antibiotics or seizure meds because kittens' livers and kidneys are too susceptible. He kept having tremors and convulsions. I couldn't make him wait until Monday - too much suffering. He went extremely fast, very comfortable with one paw in my hand and my other hand scritching his ears. He did not notice the needle. His metal kitty skewer glows in the dark. I wish that I could have done more - I wanted so much better for him.
I am so so sorry. RIP sweet little Tim. Why, why oh why. He deserved so much more. My heart is broken, I can only imagine how you feel catsknowme
. Thank you for all you tried to do for him.
You did a beautiful job with his grave! And you also did all you could for him, and he had love, warmth, and oodles of excellent care during his time with you, and passed peacefully. Thank you for giving him that.
The angels brought him to you because they knew you were his heart person. His time was meant to be short but you gave him a long life time's worth of love in those few days. Now he shines with his cat mother's love and yours, a bright star to live forever in the universe and your heart. May you sense his visits until he meets you once more at the bridge.
