Okay, so, I've tried everything under the sun. Long story short — My cat Marley is a 2 year old female purebred Ragdoll who was surrendered to us late September. We fixed her within the first week of having her and were told that she has food allergies which were the cause of her scratching her face raw and therefor getting a bacterial infection. Fast forward almost 3 months and hundreds of dollars later, alongside having a cone on her head to stop from scratching for 3 months, she's now on a strict raw meat diet consisting of llama meat accompanied by 4 NuCat by Vetriscience a day to supplement vitamins/minerals.
She has "severe food allergies", to use my holistic vet's words and has been prescribed a topical, alcohol based steroid spray for the under part of neck to subdue scratching(which she scratches till raw). We just recently shaved under there to allow for better distribution of the medicine and there's specked dark dots all over her neck. It looks, and I use this term loosely, like flea dirt but there are no fleas to be found and it's only on the underside of her neck. I attached a picture, does anyone know what it could be?
