I am a cat trapper and take cats to be TNRed..and I trapped a big smelly male that came roaming out of the woods after this little female that was in heat. He looked pretty beat up..I got him done and returned him to this woman's house who wanted to keep him inside in her laundry room until the little female was caught. Then they found out he was sort of a big baby..a slobbering stinky mess..lol. She moved him to a upstairs bathroom and since he stunk..she opened the bathroom window...the next morning..no cat..he shredded the screen and jumped 20 feet..she has seen him around so he is still there. It's hard to know what to do.
I think you made the right decision..after all it's about the cat being happy. You got him neutered and he has food there..he may come around someday. There are not alot of options for cats born feral. Being neutered he will mellow out..so perhaps one day he will be friendly. If not..then you know you did him a huge favor. I appreciate your caring about him
