I have rescued a very beautiful kitten about a month ago and since he had an eye infection (later diagnosed as Herpes) I started to care for his eyes, after 5 days he had a diarrhea which lasted for 9 days (I rushed to 2 different vets after the day 3 and they told me it's probably food allergy, anyway I was worried enough from the first day of bringing him in, that I quarantined him and did'nt let him have any contact with my other 2 cats(11 years old), although the vets told me not to worry!) after 3 weeks he was healthy and playing and eating so I decided that he is safe to be introduced to my older cats. But just 2 days later, he was less active and he collapsed while trying to play, I was worried sick and took him to another clinic and they told me he has pneumonia, they have started antibiotics... The problem is that I have seen 2 doctors in this clinic one has said the cause of pneumonia may be Herpes , one said it may be Fip! Little kitty doesn't have fever (he didn't even when he collapsed ) he eats, drinks, breathes fast(which I guess is normal for his condition?) , even tries to play. It's been 3 days now, he seems much better. but those doctors haven't answered me clearly about his case they say it should pass the 5 days of treatment before they can diagnose it more clearly, I want to know if it's probable he has Fip? If so, are my other cats in danger? They just sniffed him from 0.5 metre and once sniffed his litterbox, and once drank from his water(they were so afraid to see him that avoided to be in direct contact with him) but I have caress them after handling the new baby... I have disinfected the whole house and moved the kitty to my parents'. But I am very worried first for him and second for my older cats.
Sorry I know that this post is long and not well-written, but I hope someone can answer my questions!
Thank you!
