I feel like such a bad meowmy! I posting Abby's birthday
My baby girl turned 10 years old on June 19th. That is her real birthday. She came to live with me on October 8, 1998 when she was almost 4 months old. I can't believe how fast the time flew by.
In October 1998 I was going to be starting working 12 hour shifts and I didn't want Chynna to be left home alone for such long periods. So I decided to get her a comopanion. My friend's daughter mentioned that her former room-mate had a cat that had kittens and she had 1 kitten to find a home for. All I knew that it was a "beige" kitten. I adopted it sight unseen.
Michelle came by the next day with this cute kitten tucked into her jacket and told me that it was a girl and she had been calling her "Abby" short for "Abigail" because of her "red hair". I liked the name and she looked like and "Abby" so I left her with the name.
She was such a timid little kitty. She cried for a few days looking for her mom and followed me every where and was constantly glued to me.
She tried so hard to make friends with Chynna and I could see she wanted to cuddle with her so bad. But each time Abby went near her Chynna attacked her and Chynna also stalked poor Abby, and not in a playful way either. She meant serious business.
To this day Abby is afraid of Chynna. When she sees Chynna coming towards her she cowers and gets in her defensive/ready to run posture. They simply co-exist and tolerate one another.
But even though my girls aren't best cuddle buddies, both are my cuddle buddies and I wouldn't be without either one.
So happy birthday my sweet Abby! Meowmy loves you!
