Starting the beginning of December My siamese was defacating out side of the litter box. I thoight it was stress related since we were finishing our basement. Days later I found blood and mucus in what now was diarrhea. I brought him to the vet and the vet said it was colitis. Gave some steroids and antibiotics and sent us home. He started going in the litter box again and all was well. Until last week I noticed droplets of diarrhea all over the house. He had begun to look also like he had lost some weight. I brought his litter box into our master bath so I could monitor him. He strained and strained and nothing was coming out. I noticed a protrusion from his butt. I made an appt with the vet and brought him in today. The vet felt a mass which he assumed was a bowel movement that was stuck and planned on giving him an enema and preform bloodtests and I was to pick the cat up at 4:30. He called me at 2 and said it was not a bowel movement stuck but a tumor. The tumor is blocking him from going poo. His prognosis was very grim - days maybe weeks. Basically nothing I can do and anything I could do isn't worth the stress on our cat as it would be unsuccessful. He sent us home with prednisone and a laxitive and said to bring him back to be euthanized once he stops eating and drinking. This has been a horrible day. I'm exhausted from crying and searching endlessly for answers. I purchased a bunch of alternative medicines in hopes a miracle can happen. Colloidal silver , essiac tea, dandelion root. Since being home he's eaten. He spends most of his time in the litter box with nothing coming out. I'm wondering if the tumor feels like a bowel movement and he's trying to push it out. Has anyone had a similar heartbreak like this ? Or experience with any of the alternative medicines I mentioned?
