we had a bird, but one of those small green ones that come in blue too.. (i think they are budgies?)
my mother once slapped the belt on one of my cats (by accident she used the sound to scare them) and since then she never even dared to try to knock over the cage or get the birdie..
Congrats!
I'm sure you will have a lifetime of bird cuddles there.
Suns are absolutely beautiful birds and have great personalities.
I'd have one, but the pitch of their voice bothers my ears (partially deaf)
I just can't believe how quickly Sunrise seems to have adapted to Me and her new home, however I think I will need to get her a larger cage. She doesn't seem to be spending a lot of time in it though. She has spent almost the whole day on my shoulder, or eating, or on a finger, or kissing me or rubbing my cheek with her bill. She is a very involved with everything bird. I put her in her cage to go and get the mail and as soon as the door closed I sould hear her screaming. When I came in she squawked a couple of times to say Hi. I think this bird is going to proveto be a great pet and comfort.
Well here it is the next day and we are all doing great Right now Sunrise is on my shoulder and Rufus is on the back of the chair and both seem content with that arriangement.
What a lovely addition to your family! Sounds like she settled right in
I thought about getting a bird once, but the lifetime commitment and the way they need so much attention put me off. I think if I could be at home all day then I'd reconsider.
