Traps and trauma

The traps (for the ferals), I ordered are on their way here.

When they arrive, can I use my babies to practice using them? Will my cats be emotionally traumatized? Am I being a crazy meanie just thinking about this? This will be the very first time I'll use them so please this is an innocent question. Just being curious. I won't do it if it will harm my darlings in any way!

I would not recommend it simply because the smell of your cats will upset the strays you will be trying to trap. The trap should work just fine, sometimes the catch needs to be tightened a bit to set the door open (it loosens in shipping).
