I posted on here a few months ago about Toby my kitten with ME that I was fostering that the shelter tried to euthanize.

Well I just thought I would come post our HUGE update. My vet has been working with us to get Toby healthy. Unfortunately, nothing seems to be helping him. We put him on Carafate and Viagra but neither seemed to make any difference. We took him in again recently to get new X-rays to see if anything had visible changed. Dr. Merker says that after looking at these and the passed X-rays he doesn't think the ME is the only issue! He says looking at other cats and doing research he found that ME in cats is usually a symptom not a diagnoses. So he suspects that Toby has a Hiatal Hernia! I know this might not sound like good new but if he is correct this could all be corrected with surgery!! Toby could go on to live a normal happy life!! So now we are trying to get him an endoscopy. We could also get the x-rays with the glowing drink but the closest place is about 20 hours from here. Currently, I'm in contact with the shelter trying to get them to do the endoscopy and then I can look into surgery options. I'm really hoping for a good outcome so we can get Toby on the right track to a happy healthy life.
Right now Toby is just about 4 months old. He currently weighs 1lb 15.7oz. We did have a day this week where the scale finally tipped 2lbs but he then dipped back down. I just wanted everyone here that read and watched the previous post to hear the news. I of course will keep everyone update as much as i can. If you want more updates, I do daily updates on our facebook and instagram accounts. Facebook-- Casey's Kitties Instagram-- Caseys_Kitties.
Here's a few pics too because he's so cute!!!
