Tiny black spot near eye

Hi!

My cat, Dmitri, has a tiny black spot on the fur near his eye. I'll attach some pictures.

This spot appeared recently and I'm not sure what it is - should I be concerned? I tried gently scratching with the tip of my nail and it felt a bit harder than fur.

I've searched and searched through Google and can't find anything that it could be. He's an indoor cat, just turned 2.

Can you take a damp unscented baby wipe and wipe Dimitri's face? He should close his eye to let you do that. You could try a damp Q-tip but that is a little trickier. It could be nothing but caked dirt.

Short of that, I would just keep an eye on it, and see if it grows or spreads - take pics day by day so you can tell any changes. If it does change, then you have pics to share with the vet about its progression.

If he is doing well otherwise, I think monitoring it for now would be the way to go.
