Hi there,
My name is Claire & my Husband is Gareth & we have three men and a lady!
Out 3 boys are Errol, Freddie & Biscuits. Our Lady is Mrs Norris.
Freddie & Errol were adopted at 2months of age from our local Spca in May of 2011. I was looking for 2 kitties and saw them n the website. I couldn't get them out of my head and phoned that day and we went to get them.
A year, nearly to the day, we were at our local Petsmart and saw Mrs Norris. She had a 'going home card' on her pen, so we cooed over her and left. However, we forgot an item and had to go back. When we went back, her card was gone and she was no longer going to go to a home. We applied for her adoption that day! She will be 4 ( approx ) in the next week.
Our last boy is 'Biscuits '. Biscuits is a feral the we have been feeding since Oct 2011 & we have progressed very slowly, but progressed nonetheless he has been to the vets 3 times. Once for a check & relevant vaccines & tests. He was okay apart from having Heartworm ( heartbreaking! ) so we left him outside & carried on his care with veterinary advice.
The second time was just before Christmas 2012. He ad been missing for 3 weeks & turned up unable to stand - he had no motor skills & had lost a lot of weight. Luckily, although very sick, it was a nasty parasite I gestation & we got him better.
Also, he had blood tests & it was discovered that he had passed the Heartworms and was heartworm free! He's a toughie alright!
The third time was this Thursday just gone. We had his annual vaccines done, his nails trimmed and got him neutered. He is now in my recovery room.
Next step is to get him well & then try to begin socialisation. He does not mind me at all at the moment as long as I'm not of close & don't try to get too close, but it's early days!
I am excited about the journey, we have already been through so much
