I read somewhere that very hot or boiling water, when thrown into really, really cold air (near zero temperatures and below), will almost immediately turn into ice crystals but cool water won't.
Can anyone confirm this? We are in the middle of summer Down Under and the temperatures here in Perth never really get that cold anyway. If you do try it, don't burn yourself!
