Its really a hard thing to deal with. My hubby to be did have a bad past...but he is well past such things now. Since then he would be honest with his doctors about the fact that he used to be an addict and he was AUTOMATICALLY labeled a drug seeker from that. Since he moved here he hasnt told his drs this, but years of abuse make it so a lot of meds dont affect him and it takes a larger dosage TO affect him. He cant tell them that and they wont listen when he says he still is in pain after the pain meds, or that the pain meds have worn off after only 3 hours. It makes me sick the way some people are treated esp when it comes to things like this with the OP and your father and husband, and my fiance as well. Different things affect people differently. You would think doctors would get that, and instead of assuming everyone is lying, pay more attention to their patient!
