What happened to your cat?? Do you have others left to comfort you???
We actually don't mean to run a rescue or cattery as the cats we take in become part of the family with all benefits and "obligations" (imagine cats having obligations...) back then we lost about 12 cats to this horrible disease... we were left with "only" 10 cats and swore we'd never take so many in again but then we came across 6 adorable kittens at different times and couldn't just look away...
My cat passed in June from excessive vomiting. She might have been saved but we were going thru a divorce and the vets were useless even after grabbing $3,000 for various tests. The place I am staying at now has a "no cats" policy so I have a noisy bird to keep me company.
Each and every one of our precious felines that choose us for their home is so unique and irreplaceable it's truly a miracle of love. When we lose one of them, especially through these terrible diseases or an accident it's so sudden and such a shock it's almost too much to bear. But somehow we have to go on in the land of the living, keeping their sweet memories locked in our hearts and feeling like a part of our soul is somehow missing or incomplete. I truly admire you,Ouiser, for passing on their treasured legacies they all left behind, the great love they shared with you. Even though you know there will be the possibility of another heartache, you find it in your heart to share your life with another little soul in need, and I thank you and pray for you to be blessed for your kindness. I also pray that every one of our loved ones will live to a great age in comfort and die peacefully at home in their sleep. It so seldom happens but I rejoice when it does. Thank you too for giving us this tribute to your beautiful babies so that we may know them and keep them in our thoughts. Take care.........
FIP is such a horrible disease and leaves us completely helpless. I can't imagine going through it as often as you have. Hopefully you and your kitties are finished with it.
