Hello everybody,
Just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself to everyone. My wife and I are privileged to share our lives with Maxwell, the most arrogant British Shorthair you might ever happen to meet, and Fargo -- a grizzled shelter vet with a serious addiction to naps and laps.
I've "eves-watched" the boards here and read the newsletter for quite sometime and really like the atmosphere -- my compliments to all for their passion and civility. And since everyone here has at least one common interest (of the four-legged and purring variety), I hope you might not be too offended if I mention our little cat-based business. Since this is somewhat of a shameless plug, I apologize in advance, and promise I'll only do it once.....
Some of you may have heard of The CatStruction Company (we did a little banner swapping with Anne a few months back) but for anyone else....
My wife Sharon & I started our little company out of a disappointment in the quality of most cat furniture. I won't go into too much detail here, but if you'd like to read more about us, you can go to our site: www.catstruction.com You will also see our hammocks, which we believe to be the highest quality, affordable cat beds in the world. I think you will agree that they are truly unique...
The last thing I wanted to mention is something so many of us felt after Sept 11th. Like others, we struggled to make things that seemed important and fun before the attacks, seem that way again. And although the issues that the world faces today (and forever) are so much larger than cats and their naps, the ability to make such things important and fun is a vital part of what makes us human.
Although we have always donated a percentage of our sales to various animal shelters and charities -- we wanted to do something more. So, we are also donating 10% of our sales until Christmas to the WTC Relief Fund, the Red Cross and the ASPCA in New York.
In our own little way, we are trying to be a part of something bigger, while fufilling our dream of providing a little affordable luxury for kitties everywhere. And yes, we do drop ship and write personal gift cards for Christmas gifts.
So..... I hope I didn't offend anyone -- or break any rules -- and I look forward to future chatting...
Best Regards,
Greg, Sharon, Maxwell & Fargo
