#2 is a correction. It is a tabby with 4 whites. #3 came, a black, came at 10:36, #4 an orange came at 10:53. #5 another tabby with 4 whites and chest. Maybe underneath also. I hope she's done. It's a chorus in the closet and she and I are both whipped.
Here they are ! All 5 little sweet mewing babies. They are laying almost in order from left to right. Solid black on left is the biggest of the blacks. Followed by the tabby with 4 white feet, chest and white tummy, then the second black, who is smaller but I am sure will need to find some other distinguishing mark to tell them apart as they start growing. It is under the orange one's arm, then the the orange one, (so excited to have that splash of color in there), followed by the littlest and feistiest one, the dark grey tabby with 4 whites and chest spot. They were all here within an hour and 13 minutes.
I found a part of her mucus plug in the litter box about 7:30 today so we knew we were close.
She never went off food entirely, as she was eating at 5ish but her amount was way down. Being a seasoned mama, my husband and I were in our closet talking and giving her attention, she going between our legs, etc, with the lights on and everything and she just started contracting, standing there. When it got serious, her instincts kicked in and she went to business in the designated spot.
One of the best things we did was use the potty training puppy pads someone recommended. Boy did that help with cleanup, kittens had traction, etc. She didn't want in the box on it's side and she required us to put 4 down at a time, as she moved around a lot to have them all.
Well shut the front door and get me some math tutoring. Apparently, after I went to bed, 40 minutes after the 5th kitten, Big mama had a 6th kitten. It is hidden in the above pic.
My eldest teen came in this morning to see all the new additions and Big Mama met us at the door. With her out of the way, my son said, "Mom, I count six". I looked and low and behold, there is another dark tabby but this one has no white feet.
Funny story, when I saw it, I exclaimed, "Oh, this one has no feet", meaning no whites, but my 18 year old son got completely grossed out, thinking I meant, literally, no feet.
I had to convince him to even look at them to begin with, as he thought they had no fur. We've had kittens before so not sure where he got that idea.
