When we lived in Kansas they would actually open up the basement of the Leavenworth prison for the base families and pets. You just had to make sure they had all their tags and a leash at all times. The cats however had to be crated. The prisoners that were allowed to do things for good behavior would actually be the ones to go the designated poopy place to walk to the dogs and stuff. I believe around the time we moved from there they were getting ready to implement a program for prisoners to work with sheltered animals to get them ready for new homes. I dont know about the rest of you but I think doing that stuff in prisons is actually a good idea. I think it really does teach those people more about caring for living things and more about respect.
