Just need to vent a little this morning. It's the same old story. We got a call from one of our neighborhood contacts about a skinny, scraggly young cat who showed up on her doorstep. He's incredibly sweet and friendly - obviously an abandoned pet. He's probably less than a year old and hasn't been neutered (no surprise there).
The poor thing was caked with mud after all the wet weather we've had, so this woman took him and did her best to clean him up. Underneath all the dirt she found an absolutely gorgeous deep orange tabby with even darker swirls running through his fur. She initially contacted us hoping we could help find him a home, but has now decided to add this sweet boy, named Buddy, to her menagerie. So, we'll get him fixed, tested, etc... and return him to her. It will be a great home!
No matter how often this happens, I'm always amazed at how ignorant, cruel and irresponsible people can be. I just want to throttle people like this and tell them how stupid and heartless they are.
I wish I could make them understand that, in their stupidity, they've lost out on a sweet, loving companion. Any idiot that would do this doesn't deserve a pet anyway.
Thanks for listening.
