True MsChauer!  What is one to do?  I seriously wish nutrition education played a greater role in veterinary colleges. But then what would we have to talk about if every vet was an expert

 
I'd be happy if they would just acknowledge that they know little about nutrition and would stop parroting the self serving propaganda fed them by the prescription food manufacturers as if it were "expert advice".

after telling the vet that I had taken my cat off of Hill's Science diet because it gave him the runs, my vet suggested putting him onto another Hills (Dental) formula-which also gave him the runs. which I also took him off of. The very next time I spoke to someone from the vet's office, they recommended YET Another Hills food! I no longer speak to my vet regarding the best food for my cat, and therefore consult other cat owners. Some vets are good at being vets, but are so hung up on their "great" food that they do not consider that some cats cannot tolerate the ingredients
