Hi everyone! I'm the proud kitty mom of litter mate brothers Sunny and Shady. I joined the site a little while ago, but never got around to introducing the boys. Sunny (yellow) and Shady (gray) are a little over a year old now, and have been living here at their forever home with my husband and I since being adopted from the shelter early last summer.
Although they're grown up now, I couldn't resist sharing a few of my favorite kitten pics here!
My husband had never had pets before, so although he was on board with adopting, I wasn't so sure how he'd take to the boys. No need to worry. While visiting the shelter, Shady hopped right up on him to nap, thereby declaring J "his person." They're still inseparable! I swear Shady knew he'd need an extra little nudge! Apparently, I'm only good enough for Shady whenever daddy's not around! As for Sunny, he loves everyone he's ever met.
As you can see, these are cuddle cats. They definitely prefer to sleep snuggled with each other or with us...preferably all at the same time! I knew from childhood experience that I wouldn't be adopting "a cat." I definitely needed a pair! Every time they cuddle or play with each other, I'm positive I made the right decision. (Had there been three siblings at the shelter, no doubt I'd have come home with them all...)
I honestly have no idea what I did with all my time before these two adopted us! They make getting ready in the morning quite a challenge...but I wouldn't have it any other way! (Who wants to go to work with these beautiful faces at home?) Whoever said cats are aloof creatures never met these guys. They follow us from room to room and are rarely out of petting distance. And where one of them goes, the other is sure to follow.
Our boys are grown up kitties now, though they definitely still tear around like kittens whenever the mood strikes! Shady is nearly 13 pounds, and Sunny is nearly 11 pounds. Sunny is sitting in my lap as I type, and Shady is observing from his perch across the room.
I wanted to thank everyone for the information on this site. I've learned a ton through my reading here, and am sure I will continue to do so. Sunny and Shady say thanks, too!
Thanks for letting me show off my boys!
