I have used sucralfate often for my dog; however, not slippery elm. This is not for any good reason such as believing it would hurt him. Sulcrafate is an anti ulcer medication but is used in cases of acid reflux, pancreatitis (how my dog was introduced to it), and other stomach and intestinal problems.

How much slippery elm would you recommend?

Depending upon why it was prescribed for your cat, it may or may not be a good substitute.
