Stumpy seems to get itchy if she gets fleas. We can use a flea comb and not even find fleas or flea dirt, but last time I think we did a cortisone treatment and extra Advantage and it went away.

I just noticed she's been scratching around her ears - there's fur missing, and it's a little scabby, so I assume some fleas have been annoying her.

Do you think it's worth getting treatment for the itching, or just Advantage her (we're a bit overdue which I think is the problem) to kill the fleas?

If she is itching because she has fleas then just treat her for the fleas. I wouldn't bother treating for the itching. That will stop when the fleas are gone. But if she is itchy around her ears, check the insides of them and see if they are dirty, she might have ear mites too.

Her ears look pretty good. Poor Stumpy - she's so sensitive to flea bites!!! We really need to remember to do it every month.
