Awesome! Glad to hear that this is working so well for Molly.Well, I got the stamp of approval from the vet today! I took Molly in to our new vet for a check up, told her what we're doing for Molly's IBD and FHV and when I told her about the lactoferrin, she said "GREAT! Keep doing that." She says if I stop it, it may cause a flare with the red puffy eyes or other FHV symptoms. She was all for continuing it indefinitely.
I told her I give the lactoferrin mostly now and not the lysine and she said that's fine, obviously it's working....
Isn't it great to see them feeling better? I can tell Molly is feeling better, too. She plays more and is more sociable. I am still putting lysine in her food 2-3 times a week as well because I'm not sure exactly what combo worked for her but she seems to eat more when I use just lactoferrin. I think Laurie or somebody on this thread said lysine is salty tasting (I keep meaning to try it myself but always forget LOL) so maybe that's why she eats better with just the lacto. Molly also has IBD so I do whatever I can to keep her eating well.
I've been using the Lactoferrin on my herpes cat for a couple days and can see a significant improvement! I don't know if it's just me wanting to see improvement, because it's only been a couple days, but he's much more energetic because he's not as sneezy and his eyes have totally cleared up. His breathing isn't as stuffy either!!!
