Another successful stress test of the "20lb maximum weight" limits on the SunnySeat Cat Window Perch. Although we have two of the perch's .. these two silly boys, especially Monty, love to cram into the same one regularly for grooming and naps.
As much as we love our boy Si, who just turned 2yrs old on July 4th, we also just adore Monty. We could not have asked for a better little brother/kitten to integrate into our home. Of all the cats that were a part of my family growing up, I have literally never had one as openly affectionate as Monty. In that aspect, he has been a great influence on Si, as now Si has become much more of a purr-baby seeking out the same attention it gets Monty. LOL
Both boys' diet remains +/- 5.5oz wet per day. I have continued with what I feel are healthy choices of NV Instinct chicken & rotate through the Instinct duck, Tiki Cat Puka Puka Luau chicken and have added 2-3x/month the Tiki Cat Sardine cutlets which they inhale. And for snacking they each get 1/2 cup (seperated in very small portions) of the Instinct chicken kibble.
Si is now down, over the past 8mos, from 13.6lbs to a svelt 12.8 (having a playmate to chase helped a lot too) and Monty continues to grow! He's at 13.3lbs now as we approach his 1st birthday (August 7) and is finally starting to fill out from his long, lanky kittenhood. When they play, they are as wild as March hares and have brought so much joy and laughter to my husband and I.
Monty continues to come outdoors with us on his harness. Each time exploring a few steps more. He is a lot more timid outdoors than his brother so we don't force any of it since we want it to be a great experience each time. He does NOT like wet grass and will climb your leg to get off of it. Luckily for my DH .. he used my leg the last time!
Monty is on the left in the pic and Si on the right. It's funny how a camera flash makes Monty's eyes look more golden but they are actually olive green. Si's have always been a light mist-green color.
My sweet boys ...
